Back Roads Readings:

Reuben Jackson and Garret Keizer

Readings take place at the Brownington Congregational Church unless otherwise noted.  The intent of the series is to bring regional and national writers and poets to audiences in the Northeast Kingdom and Eastern Townships so people have the chance to hear authors read their work and to meet them personally. After each reading everyone is invited to a reception and book signing at the Samuel Read Hall House to share refreshments and conversation with the writers.

All readings begin at 3 o’clock and are followed by a book signing and reception.

In this generative writing workshop, we'll examine connections between the practice of meditation/mindfulness and the act of writing fearlessly from the heart. Using poems and other written works as prompts, we will complete several exercises that invite us to pay closer attention to ourselves, our lives, and the world around us as we do our best to define the term, "mindfulness," and what that means for each of us. Though not required, attendees will be invited to share their work via email with each other. Beginners and all skill levels are welcome.
